The suburbs of Beach Haven and Birkdale and Birkenhead contain an interesting mix of Real Estate.

Beach Haven contains large areas of 1960’s group housing. Properties in these areas attract both first home buyers and investors. Most of these are family homes but there are also a significant number of rental properties and a small area of Housing New Zealand units. Properties in these areas attract both first home buyers and investors.

There is a small shopping village at Beach Haven and the hope is that the ferry service to the city will be established at some time in the future. Presently public transport is a regular bus service to Birkenhead and on to the City.

Beach Haven Primary is a well respected school and there is an Intermediate and Secondary School in the adjacent suburb of Birkdale. A number of sports clubs are based in Beachhaven.

There are a number of streets in Coastal Beach Haven that have properties either bordering or on the cliffs above the Upper Harbour or an inlet of the Harbour known as the Oruamo Creek.

Possibly one of the best kept secrets in Auckland, properties in these areas are often architecturally designed, have sea views and command a significantly higher price than those that may only be a few hundred metres away.

Birkdale is a similar suburb to Beach Haven although there are a significant number of older homes mixed in with the group housing. Birkdale often attracts second home buyers as well as first. There are investment opportunities in Birkdale, especially in a number of streets that were developed in the 1970’s and 80’s.
